Oregon Home Care Commission

Oregon’s Home Care Commission (OHCC) was created to ensure the quality of in-home care services.

This is to be accomplished by:

  • Establishing Minimum Qualifications for homecare workers (HCWs)
  • Providing training opportunities for HCWs and for seniors and individuals with physical disabilities who employ HCWs
  • Establishing and maintaining a registry of qualified HCWs to provide routine, emergency and respite referrals to individuals who employ HCWs
The OHCC Registry and Referral System (RRS) was developed in partnership with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Local 503, and the State of Oregon, Department of Human Services (DHS), through the Seniors and People with Disabilities (SPD) division.

It is a web-based system that provides:
  • Employers, their representatives, and SPD and Area Agency on Aging and Disability (AAAD) staff with access to qualified HCWs
  • A list matching employers with qualified HCWs
  • Emergency and respite referrals
  • Twenty-four hour access

How Can LTCA Help?

Long term care insurance is different from most health and disability insurance policies, and, because of its complexity, requires specialized knowledge. A general insurance agent lacks the training and experience needed to craft an effective, personalized long term care policy.

To be useful, long term care policies must be built to not only suit a person's needs at the time of purchase, but also through the next 20 to 40 years. To achieve this level of adaptability, each client's policy is one-of-a-kind, with variable payment schedules, customizable payout periods and elimination dates, and inflation protection being only some of the options that may be required. In long term care insurance, "one size fits all", is a receipe for failure.

With over 25 years experience securing their client's assets against future long term care costs, Bette and Kim will assess your long term care needs and the means you can bring to bear. Then they will develop an insurance plan that meets your financial needs now, and your long term care needs in the future.
